Six best club parties on South Beach March 1-3
Holy time lapse! Even with that extra day tacked on to the end of the month, February flew by and gave way to the madness that is March. And in Miami, that means 128 bpm bass drops and bleep-bloop electro bangers.
With Winter Music Conference just two weeks away, EDM is slowly seeping into the MIA's bloodstream, dilating pupils and triggering mild hallucinations. But while the biggest electro acts won't get here for another ten to 14 days, there will still be several rad DJs dropping beats on the Beach this weekend.
Just check out the six best SoBe club parties.
Patrick M. 11 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at LIV, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-674-4680; livnightclub.com. Tickets cost $40 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. Originally from Buenos Aires, Patrick M delivers deep tribal house grooves that have been a Miami mainstay since 2003. His DJing career, however, predates that by nearly a decade. Este tipo cannot be missed.
Classixx. 11 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Louis Bar-Lounge, 2325 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-531-4600; louismiami.com. Tickets cost $20 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. These Los Angeles-based boogie-house dudes induce boundless booty-shaking at every tour stop. And this Friday, they'll slap Miami's ass with some dance music.
Not for the Radio. 11 p.m. Friday, March 2, at Arkadia, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-674-4680; arkadiamiami.com. Tickets cost $30 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. Miami bros Tony G and Los De La Vega's music might be Not for the Radio. But their sound is perfect for la playa. Blending elements of nu-disco and house, these two cats make "sexy dance music" for the grown and sexy.
DJ Ruckus. 11 p.m. Friday, March 2, at LIV, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-674-4680; livnightclub.com. Tickets cost $40 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. Bringing the motherfuckin' open-format ruckus every time, this self-described "superstar deejay" is back at LIV and ready to rip Miami's fake tits. Dude goes mad hard behind the decks.
Rob Marmot. 11 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Wall Lounge, 2201 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-938-3131; wallmiami.com. Table reservations cost $1,200 to $1,600 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. Marmot is a Pete Tong disciple, serving as the resident DJ for that EDM legend's Wonderland club brand. He's also an accomplished producer and a globetrotting headliner. But most important, he'll spin his shit at Wall this weekend.
Work Presents: Muscle Tribe. With DJs Ana Paula and Marco Da Silva. 10 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at Mansion, 1235 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; 305-695-8411; mansionmiami.com. Tickets cost $30 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. The queen of the queer party scene, DJ Ana Paula, will soundtrack the "biggest and baddest" Winter Party Festival closing party on South Beach. The fairy godmother of gay house has answered our prayers!
