They've got perhaps the best DJ collective name of all time, and that alone is reason to pay these guys some attention. And when you think about it, if you're an audiophile, what else turns you on more than good music? Based out of England, Johan Karlberg and Etienne Tron have been galavanting as Radioclit for the past four years, specializing in a blend of tropical ghetto-pop and hipster-funk. After trying to start a pirate radio show in London, but eventually giving up 'cause they didn't know what the hell they were doing, Radioclit had an initial brush with success by way of releasing mixtapes and playing some of the most raucous parties in the UK. They've since found inroads with shit-hot artists such as Diplo, M.I.A., and Switch, and their biweekly party, Secousse, in Nottingham has turned into ground zero for what's hot on the underground music scene. They'll be here this week tearing up Miami at The Vagabond, so if you want to hear some obscure Afrohouse and global crunk tunes while knocking back drinks, this is the place to be.
