Remember indie-dance parties like Revolver, Spider-Pussy, and Vice? Well, Poplife may soon be joining them in the ranks of parties of clubland past. Poplife, the party, will official come to a close next Saturday, May 8 at Electric Pickle, while Poplife as a events and promotions company will continue to exist.

Barbara Basti says for the time being there is no plans to move the party to their newest venue Grand Central, but that events will be presented regularly under the Poplife banner. What this mean for the Saturday night hipster scene is sort of unclear at this point. Poplife has taken several hiatuses in the past, and a celebration for Poplife's 11th anniversary is still on June 11 at Grand Central with The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Surfer Blood.

If you are wondering, Poplife will be hosting some sort of Saturday night event on a weekly basis at Grand Central, but it won't be called Poplife -- confused yet? The reason given is that the party will be broader in scope than the original party concept.
