Unlike certain other electronic music festivities (i.e. Identity Festival) that were supposed to take place this Thursday, Panic Bomber (AKA Richard Haig) will not be canceling his release party for new album Domestic Violins because of an impending hurricane.

Now, the album's already been out for a bit. But Haig's been too busy for a proper release until now. And since he doesn't perform in Miami too often anymore ("A lot of Miami bands over-play their welcome," he notes), the release, co-presented by Flavorpill, will be a special treat for Panic Bomber fans: an intimate performance with a full horn section in the Electric Pickle's upstairs party room.

Haig has also invited Troy Kurtz of the Overthrow family and

Haig will also DJ, spinning tracks that sound unlike his own music. He said that while Panic Bomber is "vocal-driven [and] song-based, the fun thing about DJing is I get to do stuff that's a little more drone-based." Think Future Classic and Vision Quest, and other "cool, forward-thinking techno stuff that's out there right now. It's groovy, but not necessarily brain dead."

The night will also feature free bevs from 42Below Vodka from 10 p.m. to midnight, and music from Eclectic Electric DJs Benton and Krisp downstairs.

Panic Bomber's Domestic Violins album release party. Electric Pickle, 2826 N. Miami Ave., Miami. The party starts at 9 p.m. and admission is free with RSVP via flavorpill.com. Call 305-456-5613 or visit electricpicklemiami.com.
