Nick Curly at Space on Saturday
After a scintillating summer of top bookings that included headliners Steve Bug, Magda, and Troy Pierce, the Techno Loft at Space shows no sign of relenting in its dominance over downtown Miami's big-room techno scene. Saturday night continues the Teutonic trend, with a highly-anticipated performance by German DJ/Producer Nick Curly, one of the fastest-rising stars of international tech house. Based in Mannheim, Germany and significantly responsible for the sound that has put that city on the EDM map in recent years, Curly runs the Cecille and 8Bit imprints which have propelled the careers of producers Robert Dietz, SIS, and Johnny D, among others.
Beyond his accolades as a master tastemaker, Curly's own distinguished production work has garnered serious attention from his peers since 2007, with upcoming output on the Get Physical, Liebe*Detail, and Mobilee labels, along with a debut artist album due out on Cecille in spring 2009. Boasting a hypnotic percussion-driven brand of deep minimal tech house, best appreciated in a spacious big-room venue like Space, Nick Curly should provide for a memorable late-night session at the Techno Loft. Catch his set on Saturday night, along with resident DJs Dsan Powell and Maurizio & Danyelino.
Nick Curly at the Techno Loft at Space. Saturday, October 24, at 11 p.m. 34 NE 11 St., downtown Miami.
