British DJ/producer Nic Fanciulli's career had an auspicious start in the early 2000s when he piqued the interest of big names such as Pete Tong, Deep Dish, and John Digweed. Thus he quickly went from being a 20-year-old small-town spinner to a globetrotting DJ sensation. Adding to an impressive portfolio of international club residencies from Miami to Ibiza is Fanciulli's work with his own imprint, Saved Records, in 2004.
Fanciulli has since gone on to remix tracks by Underworld, Kylie Minogue, and Unkle, among others, and released a best-selling Deep Dish compilation mix for the legendary Renaissance series in 2005. His remix of the Tracey Thorn & Tiefschwarz track "Damage" under the name Buick Project (with Andy Chatterley) garnered a Grammy nomination in 2007. That same year also saw the release of his critically acclaimed artist album, I-Panik, released under the pseudonym Skylark.
As both producer and DJ, Fanciulli plays quintessential British house sound: a hybrid of transatlantic influences from Chicago to acid, with deep hints of Balearic. This Sunday, Fanciulli returns to Miami in support of his debut release for legendary UK label Global Underground. It's titled, straightforwardly, Global Underground DJ 001.
