Since breaking onto the indie alternative scene in the late '90s, the Tennessee-based group has earned a reputation for having one of the greatest live shows in music today. At the 2008 Bonnaroo festival, Jim James and crew rocked it for four fucking hours. That shit's unheard of.

This past weekend, Jones and MMJ closed Saturday night at the Austin City Limits festival. And these guys had such a good time that they decided to spend December touring the country. So on the December 10, My Morning Jacket's scheduled to rock Boca Raton.

Earlier this year, the band released its sixth studio album, Circuital. Selling over 50,000 copies in the first week. That's a lot these days. And the album debuted at number five on the Billboard 200, a career high for My Morning Jacket. By comparison, the band's 2008 release, Evil Urges, debuted at number nine.

Interestingly enough, two great tracks off Circuital almost didn't make the cut. Originally, James wrote "Wonderful" and "Outta My System" for the upcoming Muppets film. However, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem turned them down. Damn you, Animal!

My Morning Jacket with Delta Spirit. Saturday, December 10. Sunset Cove Amphitheater, 12551 Glades Rd., Boca Raton. The show starts at 7 p.m . and tickets go on sale for $38.50 plus fees at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 23 via ticketmaster.com.
