Their sound is certainly grounded in the shoegaze/post-punk but with heavy nods to articulate New Wave, power-pop and that odd nexus in the early 90's when the grunge kids began to dig on 80's punk with a look towards the appeal of the singer/songwriter style of composing. If anything, it's danceable so I'd even venture to say that it is dance-punk for the indie crowd. For fans of the finer things in life, like Interpol and Hüsker Dü and local like Beings and Map of the Universe.
Check them out on Friday and pick up the slab of wax. Vinyl rules. You should know that by now.
