This latest song is a remix of their old song "Make A Livin'." The swinging feel of the first third of the song is a great backdrop for Wrekonize and Bernbiz's sing-song melodies. Then when you think the song is over, a second and a half of silence is remedied with a hard drum-hitting version of the beat. And shortly after that, two hip-hop legends take presence to the track.
For this version, Mayday recruited Dice Raw from Philadelphia, who is most known for his work with the legendary Roots crew. Also on the track is West Coast rapper Ras Kass, who you may or may not remember for having a song called "Miami Life" on the soundtrack for the movie The Substitute, that was filmed at Miami High back in the '90s.
The song just adds on to Mayday's continuous journey in reworking the general public's idea of "hip-hop." With a wide range of collaborations under their collective belt and a good amount of buzz, the group should most definitely see great success with Stuck On An Island this fall.
