"I've waited a long time to play here. But they said this shit's too future for all of y'all."

That's how DJ Shadow said goodnight to clubbers at Mansion on South Beach after getting kicked off the decks last Saturday.

For the second time in 2012, the Opium Group-owned nightclub forced a well-respected DJ-producer to end his show because the music was making its bottle-service clientele uncomfortable.

But this time, Mansion is apologizing.

UPDATE DJ Shadow just released his "Infamous" Mansion set, asking: "Too hard? Too future? Or just too raw?"

Last February, Dennis Ferrer was kicked off the decks -- just like DJ Shadow -- in the middle of his set. The reported reason: He was not playing "commercial enough."

But while Mansion expressed no regret over the Ferrer incident, the club's reps (in a statement emailed to Crossfade last night) are offering "sincere apologies" for the Shadow episode, promising to always "respect innovators such as DJ Shadow" in the future.

Mansion on DJ Shadow: The Official Statement

We offer our most sincere apologies to DJ Shadow and his fans for his set being cut short at Mansion this past weekend. This error should not have happened and will not happen again, especially as we pride ourselves on creating an environment that cultivates and respects innovators such as DJ Shadow. We have learned a lot from this error and made changes within our organization to ensure that Mansion's vision, and the vision of our guests, will never be compromised again.

For Mansion's sake, let's hope another "innovator" never gets yanked out of the DJ booth again.
