We like to lay claim on musicians whenever we can. If they've lived in South Florida for more than a few months, went to school here, had a girlfriend from here, or even their dog lived here, we like to think they're ours. So it should come as no surprise that we consider South Carolina-raised, Austin, Texas-residing Sam Beam of Iron & Wine as part Floridian.

Beam studied film at FSU before moving down to our neck of the woods to teach film and cinematography at UM. He produced and recorded his debut album, The Creek that Drank the Cradle, entirely on his own from his Miami home in 2002, and his since developed a strong loyal following. He's currently working on his sixth full-length, Kiss Each Other Clean, slated for an early 2011 release. But before then, he'll be making a stop in South Florida, at the Fillmore on November 18.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. via LiveNation, and we're sure you can expect the soft-spoken father of five's standard folk-infused Southern twang to sway us like sweetly hushed lullabies. Check out some of our favorite Iron & Wine videos after the jump.
