The club carnival rolls back into town this Saturday, March 22, through Wednesday, March 26, in the form of the Winter Music Conference, bringing much music and mayhem to SoBe. The mega music industry schmooze fest offers seminars on how to make, mix, remix, package, distribute, and sell music, as well as assorted showcases in nightclubs around town. On Sunday, March 23, Club Zen (1203 Washington Ave., Miami Beach, 673-2817) hosts the showcase for New York labels Street Beat and Gossip with several new acts taking the stage. Tear yourself away from that party to stroll over to Amnesia (136 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 531-5535), where super DJ Jellybean Benitez will be hosting a party for his label called -- big surprise -- Jellybean Recordings. The best DJs, including David Knapp and Strobe, provide musical inspiration and dance group Pulse performs its Billboard hit "The Lover That You Are." Unfortunately for party patrons, though, the folks at the WMC couldn't figure out the bulk of when or where to do what in time for this publication's deadline, so bug them at the WMC hotline (954-563-4444) or check out their Website (www.wmcon.com) for the latest info. Monster club Amnesia is a hotbed of excitement all weekend, with another bash taking place on Saturday, March 22. Promoter Napoleon throws a party for the Lipton players with lots of music, beautiful people, and a fashion show featuring haute couture, including the latest in little white tennis skirts.

Thursday
Ready Bar, "Tommy Pooch Thursday." Party promoter extraordinaire Pooch helps you welcome in the weekend with the best of the old and the new music spun by DJ Mark Leventhal. 560 Washington Ave., Miami Beach, 534-8847.

Society Hill, "Xcess." It's college night craziness when backpack-clad partygoers dance and trance to their heart's content to music dispensed by DJ MMC. 627 Washington Ave., Miami Beach, 534-9993.

Cheers, "Velvet Webb." An evening of gothic and industrial music with music guidance by DJs Storm and Dracula's Daughter. 2490 SW 17th Ave., 857-0041.

World Resources. Local group the Tribe leads a multicultural gathering of talented percussionists for a night of African, Haitian, and Brazilian rhythms. 719 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach, 534-9095.

Desperado, "Friday Night Live." All the dance mixes of your favorite line-dancing tunes in a bull-riding, cowboy-hat-wearing setting; with KISS Country personality Gator Brooks hosting. 2520 S. Miami Rd., Fort Lauderdale, 954-463-2855.

Follia. DJ Juan Hernandez and his entourage invite you back for the return of the restaurant cum late-night euro-club filled with models and moguls galore. 929 Washington Ave., Miami Beach, 674-9299.

Bermuda Bar. South Florida's biggest dance party is live on Y-100, with DJ Jade Alexander taking the reins of party culture and giving them a good pull. 3509 NE 163rd St., North Miami Beach, 945-0196.

Zeptepi, "The Church." Alternative in every sense of the word, with DJs Danny Bled, Charles Arnold, and Fence the Fish Boy pumping up gothic, British invasion, retro, industrial dance, and trip-hop tunes. 1532 Washington Ave., Miami Beach, 532-2002.
