The club scene in South Florida flaky? Venues come and go quicker than a riptide. Over the next two weeks there will be a glut of new night spots opening, and most likely a good number will get sucked out to sea. First off don't expect to attend the much anticipated crobar's (1445 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) grand-opening party Wednesday, December 15. Although invitations were mailed, and the activities for the following weekend scheduled, the club is not opening until December 29. Call 305-531-5027 for more information. Tommy Pooch and Eric Omores are among the owners of the Nikki Beach Club (1 Ocean Dr., Miami Beach), which, as far as we know, will open Saturday, December 18, in the Penrod's complex. The inaugural party kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with complimentary cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and DJs spinning throughout the evening. The space will be open daily, includes a café, and will stretch from the building to the beach. Call 305-538-1111. Also scheduled for Friday and Saturday, December 17 and 18: the private opening parties for Bacchanalia (1450 Collins Ave., Miami Beach), the old Warsaw spot. Bed (929 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) holds its private opening party Wednesday, December 22. The public won't be welcomed into Bacchanalia until Friday, December 24, and Bed's public opening wasn't confirmed at press time, but should be sometime next week. Details on the opening parties next issue. For additional information call Bacchanalia, 305-531-4499, or Bed, 305-531-4499.

Off the Beach Xcape (66 SW Sixth St.) opens Friday, December 17, and bills itself as not only geographically removed from South Beach, but different in attitude as well. The club stresses friendly, competent service in a venue that can hold 1500 people, and features two dance floors (one rooftop) and a helicopter pad. Located across the street from the Miami River, you can arrive by land, sea, or air. If you want to go by water but don't have a boat, there's always the water taxi, or the club will arrange boat shuttles. And if you don't have a helicopter at your disposal, the club can also arrange that. The opening party and features a complimentary bar from 10:00 p.m. to midnight. Xcape will be open every Friday and Saturday. Call 877-659-2273.
