Next Saturday, you're gonna be bumming around Miami International Mall anyway, right? So between stocking up on day-glo shoelaces, stuffing your face full of Cinnabon, and shoplifting calling cards from the One Stop Shop ...

Why not check out Mr. Nicole Richie (AKA Joel Madden) and his brother Benji of Good Charlotte when they pop into Macy's for, as the press release puts it, a "free rockin' performance with meet-and-greet and autograph signing"? That's right the boys (men?) behind so many eyeliner experiments, ill-advised haircuts, and pop-goth hits like "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" are going shopping.

Or, I guess, they want you to go shopping 'cause the reason for this little trip to the mall is the promotion of the Madden Brothers' new "limited edition 'Mad Picks' capsule collection" for Macy's. Apparenly, the line of "stylish denim, embellished tops, and boho vests" was "designed for the girl who wants her fashion to rock."

Also, while selling you clothes, these bromos wouldn't mind selling you their new album, Cardiology. You can pre-order the CD while you browse! Not to mention, "customers who make a $50 purchase will get VIP access to meet the Maddens and receive a download card featuring an exclusive acoustic version of Good Charlotte's new hit single, 'Like It's Her Birthday.'" We say, it's a fucking deal!

Anyway, the Miami stop is the third on Good Charlotte's mini-tour of American shopping centers, which has so far included such über-glamorous locales as Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Rosedale, Minnesota.

Next up: The bargain bin.

Joel and Benji Madden. Saturday, October 9. Macy's Fashion Store at Miami International Mall, 1205 NW 107th Ave., Miami. The muzak starts at 2 p.m. and it's free. macys.com.
