Okay, so Winter Music Conference might not start officially until Tuesday. But Miami will make any excuse to party a little bit extra. And if you're from out of town and here for the conference, you're likely similarly swingin'. No worries — besides the city's usual debauchery, the special events start as early as tomorrow. Below, some highlights of the preparty crop:

Friday, March 16: Miaminights.com one-year anniversary party, Studio A Local nightlife/culture/gossip/etc. blog www.miaminights.com is throwing its first birthday blowout in conjunction with Revolver, the longtime Friday-night hipster knees-up now at Studio A. Resident DJs Ryan Evans and Lauren A. will man the decks as usual, but the highlight is a set by Aaron LaCrate, B-more native and master manipulator of all sounds ghetto-fab-chic. Get there early, when doors open at 11 p.m., for an open bar until midnight. Studio A, 60 NE Eleventh St., Miami. Call 305-358-7625, or visit www.studioamiami.com.

Saturday, March 17: Bacardi B-Live, Bayfront Park As if one huge, outdoor festival wasn't enough (Ultra, next weekend), Bacardi throws its own bash this Saturday, featuring new cross-genre collaborations by an odd mix of rock and dance music artists. Whatever, tickets are free if you're of legal drinking age, and one can probably assume there'll be free samples a-flowin' inside. You must be over 21 to remember most of the artists performing, who include Scott Weiland, Dave Navarro, and Billy Morrison (of the Cult). Bacardi is banking on Hollywood brats DJ AM and Travis Barker as the big draw, as well as an end-of-the-night set by Paul Oakenfold, who will be backed by a full orchestra. Modest this event is not. Bayfront Park, 1075 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. Visit www.blivemiami.com for tickets and information.

Monday, March 19: Back Door Bamby's Foreplay, Snatch Back Door Bamby might have been around for ten years straight now, but she's still the queen of Monday nights, and the Beach's most badass bitch. A regular ol' Monday at Bamby might feature dancers in fetish cat suits flinging gigantic bowls of milk, towering trannies performing show tunes, or rock and rollers writhing atop Snatch's mechanical bull. Bamby loves everyone, so come as you are; the freakier, the better. This Monday she'll get you hot and ready for the rest of the week with a set by house legend "Little" Louie Vega featuring Anané, and who knows what other naughty surprises. Snatch, 1437 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Call 305-604-3644, or visit www.backdoorbamby.com.

Monday, March 19: El-P performs live at Studio A Hip-hop heads have good reason to rejoice: Miami just happens to be one of the four cities El-P has chosen for a mini-tour this month, and the local date falls right before conference. The impresario of legendary underground label Definitive Jux (and founder of seminal group Company Flow) appears in support of his second solo album in almost ten years. See this week's regular New Times music section for more on El and his sophomore solo joint, I'll Sleep When You're Dead. Tickets are $12 or $20 (this package includes a copy of the disc), doors open at 9 p.m.; those eighteen and over are welcome. Studio A, 60 NE Eleventh St., Miami. Call 305-358-7625, or visit www.studioamiami.com.
