Gato y Disco With Azari & III, PillowTalk, Tensnake at Bardot March 20
"Before Adam and Eve, God created disco and cats," says local promotion crew Young Hearts. "God was Spanish, of course." Sounds like the kind of God who would have created Miami — America's tropical, hedonistic Garden of Eden.
Dancing kitties are the concept behind Gato y Disco, Young Hearts' exclusive Winter Music Conference event. And it's another definite booking triumph for this MIA-bred collective. The outfit hit the ground running just last summer with its first monthly parties, attracting a sizable following in record time through the sheer quality of its musical programming.
Past bookings have included nü-disco and deep-house champions such as Tiger & Woods, Morgan Geist, and Nicolas Jaar. And despite alternating between radically different venues, from the Delano Beach Club and the Mondrian Hotel to Bardot and the Electric Pickle, there's a special, intimate, feel-good vibe that follows Young Hearts' nights wherever they go.
Sure enough, the lineup that the crew has in store for Gato y Disco is nothing short of sensational. The collective has handpicked some of the most hotly tipped acts on the international dance music scene, with an emphasis on live performance, ideal for the intimate confines of Bardot.
Azari & III, PillowTalk, and Tensnake will all serve up their own deep, blissed-out spins on house and boogie at Gato y Disco. And even though that's enough awesomeness to make this party a prime destination during WMC 2013, it doesn't stop there. DJ sets by hot international up-and-comers Jozif and Mano Le Tough are also on the bill.
Young Hearts promises "sly, sexy creatures of the night, combined with relentless, heavenly grooves from some of our favorite artists in the world.
"Release your inner feline."
