Everclear at Culture Room November 29
In I-can't-believe-he's-that-old news, Everclear's Art Alexakis celebrated his 50th birthday this year. Fifty. That's sort of mind-blowing and, well, inspiring. This year alone, Alexakis and Everclear released their eighth studio record, Invisible Stars, in June, and spent the better part of summer touring alongside Sugar Ray, Lit, Gin Blossoms, and Marcy Playground. "I've been through a lot," Alexakis recently told our sister publication Dallas Observer. "There is more of a sense of humor on the album... I've been on a roller coaster for a while now, and that gives you a different perspective." Now, Alexakis and his band are back on the road, proving that 50 is the new 20 and that even AARP benefits-eligible dudes can still rock the socks off intimate rock 'n' roll venues.
