Dragonette at LIV February 23

Oil your racket. It's time to party with Dragonette.

Have you seen the very meta, '80s-referencing music video for Dragonette and Martin Solveig's hyperactive retro-house collabo track "Hello"? If not, dial up the YouTube immediately. All the dudes look like Björn Borg and all the ladies look like Christie Brinkley.

The premise: Solveig (DJ Mag-ranked number 47) and fellow funky Frenchman Bob Sinclar (DJ Mag-ranked number 35) battle it out on a tennis court while a Day Glo-drenched crowd chokes itself with cheers and "Hello" pounds thrillingly in the background. This kind of revisionist fantasy matched to a totally awesome track almost makes you want to relive the Me Decade. Almost.

Just nominated for a pair of 2011 International Dance Music Awards, "Hello" is the second collaboration between the Canadian electro-pop trio and the Parisian beat-master. (The first time those two met was 2009's "Boys & Girls.") And while Solveig won't be part of Dragonette's performance at Dirty Hairy's two-year anniversary party this Wednesday, you should still oil up your racket and break out the tennis shorts. You'll look so kitschy-cool.

With Ross One, Jessica Who?, and Contra as part of Dirty Hairy's two-year anniversary party. 11 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, at LIV, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-674-4680; livnightclub.com. Tickets cost $30 via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up.
