Remember that little beer joint that nabbed our award for Best Bottled Beer Selection just a few short weeks ago in this year's Best of Miami? The DRB? Well, The Democratic Republic of Beer is proving us right this weekend by holding their own Downtown Summer Beer Luau. I know, I know...we had you at beer. But aside from suds (there's a sampling from 4-8pm, btw), the sake cocktails by Ty Ku, grub, and giveaways--like a Hawaiian vacation--there'll be music too. Because drunken debauchery in a parking lot in downtown without music would just be a regular Saturday night.

The performers list is tight, featuring some of Miami's coolest acts. The lineup includes four kickass bands: indie rockers Astari Night, the aptly named electro-pop outfit People From Venus, readers choice for Best Band in last year's BOM Radioboxer, distortion-licious alt rock outfit Rebel and the very psychedelic, and extremely awesome, Azalia Snail, who probably sound extra trippy after downing a few of those high alcohol percentage Dilirium Tremens. Or eating some acid. But I digress. Also on hand will be DJs DS, who may or may not have gotten his name playing handheld Nintendo, and Mr. Feathers.

No word yet on actual "luau-like" activities, like pig roasting and fire eating, but with all of the aforementioned fun, who cares? Wear a lei and a grass skirt and call that mofo a day. Oh, and head here to score your tixs. Use coupon code 5buxdrb to get $5 off the $15 price tag. The fun runs from 4pm to midnight. Then you're society's problem.
