Bob Seger Announces South Florida Show at BankAtlantic Center UPDATED

Man, you ever get the feelin' that today's music ain't got the same soul? Well, as Motor City rambler, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, and facial hair aficionado Bob Seger once sang: "Call me a relic, call me what you will/Say I'm old fashioned, say I'm over the hill...

Man, you ever get the feelin' that today's music ain't got the same soul?

Well, as Motor City rambler, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, and facial hair aficionado Bob Seger once sang: "Call me a relic, call me what you will/Say I'm old fashioned, say I'm over the hill ... I reminisce about the days of old/With that old time rock and roll."

That's right, brother. Screw the disco. Screw the megaclubs. It's all about Bob and some classic rock. Especially since Seger & The Silver Bullet Band have just announced that they'll be rolling through South Florida on the second leg of their 2011 North American tour.

Just a week after dropping a double dose of Detroit music on Day Two of the Orlando Calling festival with fellow Motown relic Kid Rock, Bob and crew have confirmed that they're planning a SoFla show. At the moment, there's no date or venue. But full details will be revealed soon via livenation.com.

UPDATE According to Live Nation, Seger has locked down his South Florida date. And he will be "coming to the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise with his Silver Bullet Band for a rare concert appearance" on Thursday, January 12, 2012.

So get ready for some old time Rock City riffage. And if you're too young to remember Stranger in Town, just consider it another chance to grow a beard, smoke pot with your parents, and rock out in your underwear.

Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band. Thursday, January 12, 2012. BankAtlantic Center, One Panther Pkwy., Sunrise. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets go on sale for $32.25 to $95.25 at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, via ticketmaster.com. Call 954-835-8000 or visit bankatlanticcenter.com.
