What a crazy few months it's been for Beenie Man. These days, it seems like every time Beenie's name is in the press, it's pertaining to his personal life instead of his music. He's the center of a tax evasion scandal, one that alleges he owes the Jamaican government more than $600,000 in back taxes, and he's also in the middle of one of the most publicized divorces in reggae history. His current ex-wife-to-be/nemesis, D'Angel, needs a paternity test just to determine if their one-year-old son is even his. What's worse, if the baby is his, that's just more money he'll have to fork over every month in the divorce settlement. So don't be surprised if you see Beenie playing more shows in South Florida in 2008 trying to earn some well-needed dough. Even though his name is being dragged through the muck, Beenie still manages to put on one of the most high-energy reggae shows there is. With roughly a decade and a half worth of hits like "Tell Me," "Girls Dem Sugar," "King of the Dancehall," and loads more, any show Beenie rocks is sure to be a good time. This one should have plenty of yuletide spirit.
