Art Basel is "the most important art show in the United States." The parties and the exhibits are moving DWNTWN this year, where the lights will inspire you.

About three blocks from MAM, in the heart of downtown Miami is Gallery 305 (14 NE 1st Ave - Suite 305, Miami). Since the gallery is located in Suite 305 of the One Flagler Building, some people just call it 'Sweet 305'. It's a movement.

Here is part of the press release for the gallery's opening reception: Gallery 305 is pleased to announce its Art Basel 2009 Show, "I Like It, But Is It Art..." hosted by curator Dylan Pukel. This show's reception shall be on Wednesday the 2nd of December 2009 from 6pm -10pm EST. The show will be on display from Wednesday December 2nd 2009 through Tuesday the 8th of December 2009 by appointment. Featuring the art of Meg Pukel, Jason Handelsman, Psyberpixie, Jroc, Fedele Spadafora, Kiro Ace, and -mar-. Please come and tell Dylan what you think of the collection of Art.

You heard me? It is going to be the party of the century. Psyberpixie is awesome (see above video). She has worked with Jane's Addiction, Moby, Tommy Lee, and other superstars. For this event, she will be presenting a "visual-mix" installation, with live music and video: "I feel fortunate to be able to attend and showcase yearly at Miami Art Basel," she says on a recent Sunday night, "It's extremely nice to see global art in our city, as well as art from local artists from our community." She continues, "To me, art helps the maker and the viewer share similar states of being, this connection between individuals from different societies and different generations is something extremely needed in this present world."
