Wolf Parade: One of the many bands who arose in that one crop of lupine-themed acts a few years back. It's been a few years since these Quebecois were the indie rock flavor of the week, and back then, through their first two albums, they were dogged by constant Modest Mouse comparisons. Chalk it up frontman Spencer Krug's quavering croon, and the fact that the band did, in fact, record with said Mouse's Isaac Brock.

Anyways, despite all the early hype, the band has stuck out the usual backlash wave and gone on to become pretty long-lasting -- 2010 marks seven years for the band, which is a damn long time these days. Krug and co. released their third full-length, Expo 86, this past June to high critical marks and pretty brisk sales; the album reached number 48 on the U.S. charts.

To celebrate, the group has launched a full North American tour, which arrives at Miami's new cradle of national indie acts, the Fillmore Miami Beach, on November 10. Tickets cost $23.50 in advance, $25 the day of the show, and they go on sale this Friday, August 13 at 10 a.m. through livenation.com or 800-745-3000.
