Xixon’s grand locale includes tri-level seating, a wine cellar, and a delicatessen loaded with packaged goods straight from Spain. It has come a long way, and not just in distance. Xixon opened in two quaint locations and then went dark before landing the gorgeous rustic corner spot on Coral Way where it resides today. Sit at the bar in the main dining room and order from the tapas on display before you open a menu. Choose from boquerones en vinagre (white anchovies), ensaladilla rusa (tuna & potato salad), almondigas (meatballs), aceitunas (olives), and pimentones de piquillo con bacalao (cod-stuffed peppers). Nothing quite pairs with tapas like a glass of wine. Not sure what to have? Wine dispensers allow you to taste various options, or walk down a flight of stairs to the wine cellar, where you’ll find some of the Iberian Peninsula's best spirits. Add some manchego cheese and jamon serrano to that equation. They’ve got plenty of that too, along with paella made to order and a squid ink version of the traditional Spanish rice dish, dubbed arroz negro. A live guitarist plays Fridays and Saturdays. This might as well be Spain. Vale!
