Even though only a few blocks off Lincoln Road, Parrilla Liberty is free of extravagant South Beach prices, free of infamous South Beach 'tude, free of annoyingly hip South Beach cuisine. This hole-in-the-wall eatery dishes up big portions of tasty, simply grilled meats in a decidedly modest setting that can be a welcome relief from all the preciousness of SoBe. Two hungry diners can gorge themselves on the “parrillada for one” – blood sausage, chorizo, sweetbreads, short ribs, and flank steak, all flavorful and precisely cooked. Churrasco is good too, though the chimichurri is bland. Check out the housemade empanadas and, for dessert, luscious dulce de leche-filled crêpes.
