Located in a strip mall a few doors down from Sunny Isles staple Timo, the H Restaurant bills itself as French. In many ways it is. It is owned by French couple Gérard and Karin Herrison, the kitchen is led by French chef Julien Herrison, and along the restaurant's bright-red walls, paintings depict scenes from France, including a large portrait of Madame de Pompadour. Yet on the large menu, alongside classics such as escargots and frog's legs, diners will also find many non-French dishes, including fried calamari, pasta, and wood-oven pizza. So while it may be French, the restaurant offers a wide variety of choices for all tastes. Try a cup of onion soup ($8) and the steak au poivre ($28) - among the more popular dishes - with a glass of wine. Who cares if chicken Marsala is on the menu? You can still sate your French food craving here.
