Back when Paramount Studios owned movie theaters, it opened The Shores Theater in 1946. A few decades later, the single screen auditorium became a dollar cinema that screened older films and eventually closed circa 1988. Twenty-four years later and several name changes, O Cinema partnered up with the Miami Theater Center and now welcomes its surrounding community to South Florida’s largest independent movie theater auditorium. O cinema Miami Shores showcases theater for children, training in the performing arts, and an array of films. The venue seats 330 guests, features 5.1 Surround Sound, is ADA-compliant, provides hearing impaired assistance, and has space for ten wheel chairs.
