This little gem in a strip mall at SW Fifth Avenue and Eighth Street takes the edge off the day with nice wine, good tapas, and a relaxed atmosphere. A $15 zarzuela de mariscos included overcooked bay scallops, but the broth was beautifully light, properly salted, and delightfully tasty. The squid, mussels, and other parts of the casserole were excellent. The calamari, $9.95, was plentiful and lightly fried. Double your return on the zarzuela investment by dipping the calamari in the seafood broth. The real standout was the tortilla española with chorizo. It was flavorful, plentiful, and spicy. Service was friendly and adept, though it's questionable whether this place will survive because it's hidden next to a beauty parlor and a Domino's Pizza.
