Oh, where to start? Havana Harry's, which opened its first location many, many years ago off Miracle Mile in Coral Gables, delivers the goods in every possible way. Harry's takes Cuban food to another level. It prepares traditional foods according to traditional recipes, but it also makes some new-school stuff. Although there are no appetizers that stand out, entrées and desserts are phenomenal. We highly recommend the vaca frita de pollo ($9.95); the shredded chicken breast is so flavorful it tastes like it has been marinated for more than a decade -- every bite oozes lemony, garlicky goodness. Masitas de puerco ($8.95), fried pork chunks, share the same quality and come in a large quantity. If you feel up to spending some more dough, try the Pico Turquino steak ($22.95), a tender 14-ounce filet smothered in blue cheese sauce. As delectable as Harry's meat, pork, chicken, and seafood entrées are, the desserts will floor you and might spoil you for desserts from anywhere else. Try the flan ($5), probably the best in all of Miami. If you want something less traditional, go with guava cheesecake ($6) -- you've never tasted a dessert this good.
