In the late Eighties and early Nineties, the punks would hang out in front of the Cameo Theater and drink beer. Skateboard contests took place in the alley as bands such as Circle Jerks, 7 Seconds, Fugazi, and GWAR set up inside the large club. The concerts were packed with skinheads and metalheads, but times have changed. Cameo is now the uber-hip techno club on South Beach.
