15 Steps

4525 Collins Ave. Miami Beach, FL 33140 | Mid/North Beach | 305-674-5590

Location Description:

The name 15 Steps was chosen to reflect the number of steps to get fish from boat to table. It is in the fresh seafood and close ties to two farms -- Swank and Paradise -- where the cuisine shines. Rich amber lighting and plush leather seating fill the center of this first-floor restaurant located inside the Eden Roc hotel. The menu changes daily based on the harvest and catch, but the popular gnocchi and black truffle ragout ($13) is a staple. The hefty potato pasta is topped with black truffles before a fried quail egg, slow-braised pork shank, and mushrooms are thrown into the mix. It is so rich it can easily be a main dish. A daily deal is the three-course prix fixe dinner menu, with a starter, entrée, and dessert, for $39. For dessert, the grapefruit soup ($10) brings a pucker like no other. An orange blossom ice cube is placed in a bowl of grapefruit juice along with tarragon sorbet and coconut jelly.
