Even if you've never eaten here, you've surely seen this funky, boxy building standing awkwardly along South Dixie Highway saying, "Yeah, I know I'm a lima bean-colored anomaly, but there are always cars parked in my lot!" They're here because this busy little spot churns out fresh and comforting Thai food on a consistent basis. Take a seat in the recently revamped dining area (complete with vines hung on the banisters and a flashy tropical fish tank) and sample some satay ($7.95) - skewered marinated beef served on a sizzling mini barbecue - or the truly badass mee grob ($7.95), which consists of succulent little shrimp stuck in a sweet, crisp tumbleweed of rice noodles. Solid pad thai ($12.95) is dusted with peanuts and spiked with bean sprouts, while the house specialty, crispy chili snapper ($24.95) - a whole fried fish cut tableside and drenched in a robust garlic chili sauce - is truly the snappiest. For dessert, try the Thai doughnuts ($5) or a spoonful of chalky, pastel-colored mints that eternally sit in a bowl at the hostess stand.
