Eddie's Place

Now in its 41st year, Eddie's Place was named after owner Wanda's late husband, who co-owned the bar. A semi-modern-day Cheers whose patrons seem really attached to the place, the no-frills pub has played host over the years to four weddings and at least one funeral. "Everybody knows everybody else's business, and what they don't know, they make up," Wanda says of the regulars. Three dollars will buy you a vodka cocktail, $2.25 a draft beer. If you want to take a break from all the catching up, you can play a video game or silently munch on some of the potato chips Wanda picks up from Publix. Eddie's Place is open daily from noon to 5 a.m.
