Carpaccio

This longstanding anchor tenant of the upscale Bal Harbour shops is beloved by locals and tourists alike for its affordable and unpretentious Italian fare and flawless service. From the moment you sit down (preferably you snag a spot on the lovely outdoor terrace), the staff brings a rack to hang your jacket, shopping bags, and handbag. Honestly, what other eatery in Miami does this? The waiters here are trained to deal with even the most finicky of customers, to the point that if you wish to have your Margherita pizza with tomato sauce and cheese on the side --- they’ll find a way to make it happen. They aim to please without being over the top about it, and food is always brought out in a timely matter. Try the grilled calamari followed by the signature pasta, “pennette Harry’s Bar," which is named after the eponymous restaurant in Venice, Italy. And although it’s not listed on the menu --- a meal at Carpaccio’s is always accompanied by some of the best people watching in town.
