The toughest fashionistas won’t let a dirty word like “recession” get in the way of their shopping obsession/compulsion/addiction. And based on scientific data we’ve collected (our bank statements, the receipts balled up in our wallet, etc.), it seems buying less often isn’t an option — it’s all about buying smart. And making intelligent purchases is where thrift stores, outlets, and Miami’s latest style invention, Rock Bottom Couture , fit in. Every three months, the organizers of this fashionable affair scour the boutiques of Miami for the best of the best on-sale merchandise. The value is then transferred to you when you hit the MAC Building for the largest collection of discount items this side of Sawgrass Mills. Pay $10, shop from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and forget that you can no longer afford full-priced wares. If only for one day.
