Ever find yourself admiring an art exhibition and thinking, This environment would really be augmented by bass music? That’s kind of what the Bass Museum of Art (2100 Collins Ave., Miami Beach) had in mind when it inaugurated the monthly party and cultural series Beats After Sunset. The first Friday of every month, the museum opens its doors to those 21 and older for what’s lovingly called “the best happy hour on the Beach.” It’s better than a megaclub, because the drinks are free and the art is smart. This Friday, check out the impressive sights of “Gravity and Grace: Monumental Works by El Anatsui.” The Ghanaian-born artist expertly plays upon form and color to express his social and political views through giant metal sculptures. Twelve of these tremendous drapings are on display through September. Sure, you could see them on an average day, or you could visit when there are free drinks from Hendrick’s Gin and sweet beats from the TBA guest DJ.
