Starving Foodies have no fear, the MacMamma ® is finally here! Witness the unveiling of caped superhero themed sandwich truck, Sandwich Girl at Miami's WYNWOOD food turck meet up spot every Wednesday 12pm-6pm.
Founder and sandwich lover, Shreen Elkenani will begin her crusade against the villain “Hunger” this weekend! Inspired by a vision to create traditional sandwiches with an edgy modern gourmet twist, Elkenani saw her eccentric sandwich ideas come to life upon collaborating with culinary innovator and Sandwich Girl Executive Chef Jose Gonzalez (Harlem's 67 Orange). The pair held several taste-testing experiments and ingredient case studies before unveiling the Sandwich Girl signature innovative “bun” approach which includes a creamy Mac and Cheese ball bun stuffed with micro-greensand bastirma, and a Fried Green Tomato sandwich casing, nearly mirroring a mobile caprese salad.
Backed by investor and celebrity Chef Max Hardy (Amare Stoudemire, Bon Appetite), Sandwich Girl is sure to satisfy Miami's food truck meet-up goers, nightlife enthusiasts and foodies on-the-go with it's radical sandwich approach inspired by Mediterranean, Latin and Southern cuisine.
Here's a bit more about SG. Sandwich Girl is a superhero themed innovative sandwich food truck that features new methods to classic recipes, and aims to aid in eradicating hunger. Each sandwich is named and based on women that inspire us. Our cuisine is a fusion of Mediterranean, Latin, Asian and southern food. Some of our innovative buns include fried green tomato, mac & cheese, chicken buns and naan, you name it!
We are a diverse team and support many different causes. Sandwich Girl is partnered with celebrity chef Maxel Hardy's non profit organization One Chef Can 86 Hunger. We believe strongly in working towards raising awareness not only to world hunger but many different charities.
