Fri., Sept. 15, 7 p.m. 2017
free with RSVP
Twisted metal, stars embedded in the ground, motorcycles covered in candles — this might sound a bit like the scene of a very strange car crash, but it's actually the work of artist Mark Handforth, a Miami-based sculptor whose work has landed in contemporary art museums all over the world. For the latest installment of its ongoing series of talks, ICA Speaks, the Institute of Contemporary Art is bringing Handforth in to talk about his life and art, including a piece commissioned for the grand opening of the ICA's new building. 7 p.m. Friday at Palm Court, 140 NE 39th St., Miami; icamiami.org. Admission is free with RSVP.
