Bowling is at its best when done in less than swank surroundings. There's just something about the sport that begs broken-down buildings and flickering neon lights. And at Manor Lanes Bowling Center, you can enjoy cheap, hassle-free games in just such a vintage atmosphere. The booze and the balls are inexpensive, and you can't beat your fellow bowlers. So skip the shiny and new and bowl a few at this Wilton Manors landmark. More >>

    Marlins Park

http://miami.marlins.mlb.com/mia/ballpark/index.jsp Like the chosen moniker for its famous home run statue, some might dub Marlins Park a "Tremenda Mierda" - thanks to owner Jeffrey Loria's success at sinking the city into debt to fund the creation of 37,000 empty seats. But while a trip to this Little Havana venue might reveal disgruntled players and vacant boxes, the stadium itself ain't half bad. From our one-of-a-kind home run monstrosity to the impressive selection of palatable eats, there's plenty to occupy attendees - aside from the obvious bats and balls, that is. Sip a frozen cocktail from the Clevelander and stroll past the gently jiggling bobblehead museum. Snag a BBQ pulled pork sammie from Brother Jimmy's and read up on Orange Bowl history. And if you've got a few minutes to spare, you could always check out an inning or two. That part's optional. Since no one goes to the games, parking's a breeze in the on-site garage or makeshift neighborhood lots. It's also the most sustainable stadium in Major League Baseball, so at least our city's financial ruin wasn't too devastating to the environment. Gotta look at that silver lining, after all. More >>

http://www.miamibeachgolfclub.com Hitting balls is a great way to get out some of that latent Miami-inspired aggression. Much better than road rage. And at the Miami Beach Golf Club, you'll find what's arguably the nation's best driving range. And that ain't all. This idyllic public course has been around since 1923 - though she's undergone some impressive renovations since her early days. Today, the 18-hole course boasts a pro shop, restaurant, the aforementioned range and some serious beautiful tee views. There's a golf academy, too, if you could use a little help with your handicap. http://www.marinestadium.org Miami Marine Stadium is one of those rare, one-of-a-kind landmarks you'd only find in the 305. This stunning Modernist creation was originally built on Virginia Key as the first purpose-built venue for powerboat racing in the U.S. In the years following, the bayfront Ley Biscayne locale hosted rock stars, presidents, major sporting events and earned itself a place in the history books. Sadly, it fell into disrepair, but the good news is, a restoration plan has been approved and Friends of Miami Marine Stadium are spearheading fundraising and refurbishment efforts. A bright future is ahead for one of Miami's most remarkable assets, and we can't wait for the final product. More >>

http://www.miamispringsgolfcourse.com Former home of the Miami Open, this throwback course once played host to many a golf great. All the biggies made the trek to Doral to take on the greens at the city's oldest municipal course. These days, regular Joes can play for paltry sums (compared to other courses around town, anyway). Or hit the driving range on the cheap. They've got recently renovated banquet facilities, too, if you're looking for a spot to host a shindig. More >>
