http://www.floridastateparks.org/capeflorida/ Key Biscayne is one of those places where none of us spend enough time. This breathtaking little island offers all kinds of wonders, of which Cape Florida State Recreation is one. This lighthouse, part of Bill Baggs State Park, stands 95-feet-tall as a throwback to Miami's days gone by. Built in 1825, it's the oldest structure still standing in Miami-Dade. Climb the spiral stairs for an unsurpassed 360 degree view of, well, everything. The 305 and beyond. More >>

http://www.clubdecazadorescubanos.com Sometimes, you just need to let off a little steam. And what better way than by shooting at inanimate objects? Hell, it was good enough for Hemingway, back in the day, who shot trap, skeet and Flyers. Little Havana's Club de Cazadores Cubanos dates back more than 90 years. And they honor tradition. Members go out on regularly scheduled trap and skeet shoots, and the club hosts ATA (Amateur Trapshooting Association) competitions. A recreational slice of Miami history - there's nothing else like it around. More >>

    Country Club Of Miami

6801 Miami Gardens Drive Hialeah, FL 33015
    305-829-8456

While the notion of a country club might call to mind an upper crust, exclusionary establishment, the Country Club of Miami is actually anything but. This Robert Trent Jones designed course boasts 36 holes and a surprisingly egalitarian setup. The two courses range in price depending on season, but usually it's $45 to $50 to play. The driving range is cheap, well lit and open from dawn till dusk. Heck, they even have a Friday night driving range happy hour when range buckets run $1. There's a restaurant/bar on site, too, in good golf tradition. So when your golf swing needs a little work and your wallet a little break -- head out to Hialeah for an afternoon. More >>
