http://www.sandbargrove.com It's ground zero for UM students, so not coincidentally the house drink is a ferocious cocktail called the Hurricane. Lifesavers hang throughout the bar in case anyone drowns in their giant beer mugs. The frat-house atmosphere, and those Hurricanes, inspire more than a few wannabe Greeks to get crazy. More >>
http://www.santolounge.com It's only fitting that a nightclub named Santo - Spanish for saint - shares its address with a multimillion-dollar casino. shares its address with a multimillion-dollar casino. Originally on South Beach's Lincoln Road, Santo relocated to Hallandale Beach's Gulfstream Park in the summer of 2010. Though the area's nightlife was seemingly nonexistent, this 4,000-square-foot, urban-chic lounge attracts an upscale South Florida crowd from Boca to Brickell. Located on the second floor of the casino complex, Santo offers full bar and bottle service. As is the case with most ultralounges, Santo isn't cheap - $20 cover after midnight - but the people are beautiful and the staff is gracious, thus justifying the price of admission. The lounge gets busy after midnight, and it's not uncommon to see young lovers flirting and scantily clad women dancing atop the bar. More >>
http://www.scorebar.net Adonis is in the house, South Beach style. Good luck getting past the attitude, though. Since its inception Score has been the epicenter of the well-coifed and tightly muscled set, and it can be tough to break into those tight-knit cliques, though things get looser as the night goes on. http://www.scullystavern.com Ah, bar food. Wait -- this isn't your regular bar food. Does your neighborhood watering hole serve the best stuffed mushrooms ($7.95) you've ever tried? And when you walk into Scully's, it feels familiar. It has that Cheers look -- all wood, dark green, and brass. But when you bite into one of the cheeseburgers ($7.95), whether it's the American, Swiss, or Swiss and mushroom variety, you'll know it's is no ordinary bar. But any joint can serve a fantastic burger, you say. How about a delectable New York strip steak ($18.95) with soup or salad, potato, and vegetable? Wednesdays, the prime rib ($15.95), served with soup, salad, and two sides, attracts customers from across town. Of course, there are also chicken tenders ($6.50) and probably the most amazing nachos ($8.50) you've yet to taste. While you wait for your food, you can throw down on one of the two pool tables in the back. But make sure to leave enough room for dessert ($4.25 to $4.50), whether it's chocolate cake or an enormous slice of Scully's bread pudding. More >>
If you're tired of Sunday fundays that are all about football or dog parks - Shantel Lounge's Sunday Fish Fry will be a welcome change. Fried fish and live R&B in a one-of-a-kind Liberty City, edge of Allapattah setting will shake up that weekend routine. Or drop by the other days of the week (when they're open) and score some killer BBQ chicken. This serve up cheap, no-frill eats. And don't forget to save some room for at least a few bites of sweet potato pie. More >>
http://www.shuckersbarandgrill.com The wings at Shuckers are some of the best in town, and you can get them grilled or drenched in sauce. Either way, you'll be satisfied. The rest of the menu is just as basic - laced with fan faves such as burgers and fries, fried fillets of juicy fish, and bucket after bucket of peel-and-eat shrimp. That said, the food is plenty good. But it doesn't rival the view and atmosphere. You'll come for the perfect French fry but stay to watch the live portrait of Biscayne Bay change with the hours. Some patrons float up to the dock, but if your ride is on wheels, there's lots of parking. You're liable to see all types of Miami folks enjoying the panoramic view or chillaxing to a baseball game on one of the flat-screens. Oh, and don't forget to try the bloody mary - it's an ideal mix of hot and cool. More >>

Sonny's Stardust Lounge is an institution around these parts. Creative types have inhabited its dark corners, rockers have frequented the punk shows that owner Sonny Scott used to host, and many a country line dancer has do-si-doed her way across the dance floor. Never been there? You'll surely recognize it as the imposing, sometimes ominous-looking, two-story white building off Powerline in Fort Lauderdale. Loads of offbeat blues and country acts have come through Sonny's over the past 30 years, and the jukebox, fittingly, avoids the Billboard charts. (Ask Sonny about his time as a country-music star.) Walk inside and the décor looks like it hasn't been changed since it opened, complete with retro-rific diagonal mirrors and '70s-era wood paneling. You'll be hard-pressed to stand; there are tables and seats everywhere. This comes in handy when you watch the gems Sonny shows on his big-screen projection TV. More >>
http://www.stagedoortheatre.com Situated near a supermarket, a sports bar, and a bowling alley in a Coral Springs strip mall, the Stage Door enjoys a prime location for the suburban everyman looking to expand his cultural horizons. The theater's repertoire, however, has all the edge of a circle, playing to an elderly demographic that just can't get enough Neil Simon comedies and mothballed Broadway musicals. The venue has two adjacent theaters, a stage for large-scale spectacles, and a smaller black box for intimate plays. Keep an eye on both; every now and then, a compelling piece of musical theater will emerge. More >>
http://www.thestagemiami.com The Stage is uniquely located underneath the I-195 causeway just off NE 2nd Ave in the Design District. Carlos Garcia, New Times's Best FM Personality 2010, runs the place.
