    http://www.historicalblackprecinct.org Miami hired its first black police officers back in 1944, and it was only through six years of struggling without a locale to call their own that they were granted a separate courthouse, jail and precinct house in Overtown. While it was closed in 1963 as integration finally came to the city, it still stands as a historical landmark -- now known as the Black Police Precinct & Courthouse Museum.
