http://www.shenaniganssportspub.com A few miles west of I-95 on Sheridan is the family-owned Shenanigans Sports Pub. Hanging in the front window is a giant Irish flag, but the interior's décor reflects that of a quintessential locals-only sports hangout. From the referee-uniform-clad bartenders to an anything-goes (and smoke-free!) atmosphere, Shenanigans is the place for sports junkies. Multiple TVs hang in various locations, the wood-paneled walls are decked out with neighborhood sports team memorabilia, and kitschy NASCAR lamps dangle over dimly lit pool tables. The jeans and T-shirt beer guzzlers can be heard either yelling at the television or singing along karaoke-style to the '90s cover band playing under the disco ball. In addition to a wide selection of beers, Shenanigans has a surprisingly large signature-cocktail menu, including the particularly refreshing palmetto cocktail, a mix of pink lemonade and sweet tea vodka. http://www.lapiazzapasta.com/index-1.html Set right in the hubbub that entertains Young Circle crowds in Hollywood, Sosta Lounge is a slick and modern bar mixing hookah smoke and chic couples sipping expensive bottles of wine outside, and lounge singers and trendy leopard couches inside. Lights glow through the gray granite bar top, and aqua-tiled pillars add colorful accents to the mostly neutral-toned room. Brick walls feature the funky water colors of the ever-whimsical Guy Buffett. Happy hour runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and dinner specials are available through La Piazza, a restaurant that's attached and under the same ownership. http://www.tequilaranch.com You may not want to return to the scene of the crime that involved a bucket's worth of Coronas and one too many rides on a mechanical bull, but if you can brave it, you'll be rewarded with a standout weekend brunch of Mexican fare that far surpasses the basic huevos rancheros. Try a plateful of salsa-covered scrambled eggs atop grilled corn masa and spicy Mexican home fries. Or the Sopes Distrito Federal or Pambazos Poblanos sandwich made with Puebla classic bread, scrambled eggs, chorizo, poblano salsa, refried beans, lettuce, and cheese. Brunch isn't the only time of the day worthy of a visit -- lunch, happy hour, dinner, and late-night snack time are perfectly acceptable options. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>
