http://www.alabamajacks.com Alabama Jacks sets the tone for an ideal trip to the Keys. Essentially a giant blue fishing shed surrounded by Harleys, it looks like a place that would bubble with trouble. Sounds include a scrappy classic rock/country band, the clinking of Key West Lager and Sunset Ale bottles, and the rumbling of idling boat engines. Inside, there's a sheltered wooden patio dotted with white plastic tables, Hawaiian button-downs, sunburns, bandannas, eclectics, eccentrics, and Old Florida flair. And there's good food. Try the famous conch fritters that come as an appetizer or as a meal for $8.25 (with two sides; we suggest potato salad and onion rings). They're buttery, sweet, massive, meaty, and much more magical than any others in the Magic City. Mahi-mahi is always blackened just right, and if you want fried pub grub, check out the chicken fingers, jalapeño poppers, fried clam basket (half-pound for $6.25), oyster basket ($9.50), and buffalo shrimp ($9.50). You'll want to twirl around on the dance floor, so plan on staying for at least an hour. Or two. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>
http://www.bottlecaplounge.com The Bottlecap Lounge has been open since 1934, and it's still going strong. Not much has changed, except for technological upgrades like the eleven plasma screen televisions, and high quality sound system for live bands and DJs. For those who enjoy a drink on the go, the attached liquor store is fully stocked from the top to the bottom shelf. Theme parties, and live bands playing original and cover songs are scheduled every week. The bar also offers promotions for free drinks, and bar tabs, making it one of the most popular bars in its area. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>
http://www.irishkevins.com Hot chicks in bikinis fill the stage to see who can chug a pint of Guinness faster, an old man on a fishing trip drinks himself into a Heminway-like stupor, and the bartenders have as much fun as the patrons. Irish Kevin's is as much a Key West staple as six toed cats and booze for breakfast. Inside, you'll find more evidence of years of hard drinking than at an AA meeting, but here it's still fun. For a true Key West adventure, Irish Kevin's is a must drink stop. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>
http://www.sloppyjoes.com A legendary Hemingway hangout and longtime gathering place for Key West's variegated population, this old-school saloon slings ice-cold beer, whiskey shots, and its signature sandwich, the Sloppy Joe. Meanwhile, a constantly rotating roster of pseudo-hippie weirdos and bar bands make noise onstage. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>
