http://www.kaffekrystal.net Out in the middle of nowhere, the Latin rhythms flow freely and the booties shake as fast as the maracas. This rather large venue behind the Wendy's and Pizza Hut caters to the Spanish hip-shaking crowd with the occasional rock show mixing it up. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>
http://www.millersalehouse.com If you like watching sports at a crowded bar in Kendall, this is the place. There are over 30 HDTV sets around the bar area, all tuned to whatever games are on. Yet, this place seems to know how to pack 'em in without giving up its Cheers-like friendliness because not only can you you imbibe here, but you can also ingest. Appetizers include the ubiquitous nachos, wings, and spinach dip, but are all executed well and filled with tongue-tingling flavor. Be pleasantly surprised by the just-right jambalaya swimming with shrimp, sausage, chicken, peppers, tomatoes, onions, and rice ($10.95). Or try the sinful (in a good way) seafood combo ($12.99); it comes with the usual suspects - shrimp, fish, clams, and scallops - plus sides of coleslaw and hush puppies. All dishes are perfect accompaniments for the plethora of foreign and domestic draft beers, as well as a variety of games playing on the many massive flat-screen TV sets. http://www.scullystavern.com Ah, bar food. Wait -- this isn't your regular bar food. Does your neighborhood watering hole serve the best stuffed mushrooms ($7.95) you've ever tried? And when you walk into Scully's, it feels familiar. It has that Cheers look -- all wood, dark green, and brass. But when you bite into one of the cheeseburgers ($7.95), whether it's the American, Swiss, or Swiss and mushroom variety, you'll know it's is no ordinary bar. But any joint can serve a fantastic burger, you say. How about a delectable New York strip steak ($18.95) with soup or salad, potato, and vegetable? Wednesdays, the prime rib ($15.95), served with soup, salad, and two sides, attracts customers from across town. Of course, there are also chicken tenders ($6.50) and probably the most amazing nachos ($8.50) you've yet to taste. While you wait for your food, you can throw down on one of the two pool tables in the back. But make sure to leave enough room for dessert ($4.25 to $4.50), whether it's chocolate cake or an enormous slice of Scully's bread pudding. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>
