http://www.delano-hotel.com/en-us/#/explore/?id=/delano-miami-rose-bar/ This is Miami, and no matter how we might fight it, our collective culture involves beautiful women, expensive cars and high-priced cocktails. Try though we might to embrace the devil-may-care-dive-bar-artist-colony vibe, it's in our blood. So when you really want to revel in the quintissential South Beach experience, there's the Rose Bar at the Delano. In the lobby of the sleek hotel sits a rose-colored, chandelier-studded spot to see and be seen. Wear the Manolo Blahnik's. Your Louis Vuitton purse, too. Knockoffs are a no-no. http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Wetlab/136026623084 Hidden deep in the labyrinthine halls of the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science is a gem of a bar with cheep beer and a waterfront view. Located on the way to Key Biscayne, RSMAS Wetlab (4600 Rickenbacker Causeway, Miami) is not just a place for students to watch dolphins play while imbibing; its doors are open for the rest of us, too. For those with a hankering for bar games, there's a pool table, and for those likely to smoke, there are plenty of places to sit outside by the water. The bar is only open on Wednesday and Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and closes earlier if there are no customers, and from 4:30 to 11 p.m. on Fridays. • Rosey Baby Crawfish & Cajun House

Rosey Baby Crawfish & Cajun House

    4587 N. University Drive Sunrise, FL 33351
    954-749-5627

http://www.roseybaby.com By day, students and suits crowd Rosey Baby for crawfish pasta and other Louisiana favorites, but by night, the tiny club pushes tables and chairs aside. Patrons literally bump elbows with the regional crop of traditional blues purveyors regularly holding court. This spicy little number feels like a New Orleans bar mysteriously picked up and planted in Lauderhill. The kicks range from mild, found in appetizers like crawfish bisque and sautéed alligator, to seriously zingy, in main courses such as blackened catfish or blackened rib eye. Buckets of crawfish, served in season only (not available July through December) are the best around, as are boiled Cajun blue crabs, when they're on special. Po-boys and muffulettas are requirements for N'awlins food-lovers. Live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>

  • Round Table Sports Bar & Lounge

Round Table Sports Bar & Lounge

    11205 NW 7th Ave. Miami, FL 33168
    305-756-2008

http://www.roundtablesportsbarandlounge.com The Round Table is a neighborhood bar worth driving to, even if it's not in your neighborhood. The exterior is reminiscent of a castle, recalling the days of King Arthur and his knights. The interior is homey with a wooden bar anchored in the middle of the room. There are plenty of TVs on the walls for sports viewing. The main highlight is the tabletop shuffleboard where you can test your hand-eye coordination. The beer is incredibly inexpensive at $1.75 for a draft, a mixed drink costs only about $4, and shots of favorites such as Washington Apple are a mere $3.50. Standing next to a popcorn machine, a statue of a dancing man greets visitors. So does the crowd of regulars who will flash you a smile when you come in the door. You just need to buzz to get in, so don't think you're locked out. Happy hour is from 4 to 7 p.m. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>

  • Round Up Country Western Nightclub and Restaurant

Round Up Country Western Nightclub and Restaurant

    9020 W. State Road 84 Davie, FL 33324
    954-423-1990

http://www.roundupcountry.com Grab your partner, spin her ’round and ’round, all the way down to Davie's Round Up Country Western Club. This good-ol'-boy bar is a needle in a haystack off 595 in the back of a strip mall. But don't be fooled by the suburban-sprawl exterior; this place is all Texas heart on the inside. There's a wooden bar with beer signs and a few TVs, but you'll rarely see a soul sitting. The patrons are too busy showing off their spur-kickin' moves on the enormous dance floor. But don't fret if you haven't got the square-dancing moves down pat; during the week, Round Up offers free dance lessons. Wearing a ten-gallon hat and snakeskin boots is not a dress code requirement, but it's more fun if you do. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>
