http://www.happywinemiami.com Happy Wine and Gourmet is more wine shop than anything else (and the bottle and case prices are among the lowest), but it's also part wine bar, where you can sit down and enjoy your wine with tapas and sandwiches at tables made from casks, crates, and a door-size plank of wood propped up by barrels at each end. Most patrons pluck a bottle from the shelves and shell out a $5 corkage fee. The sandwiches here feature fresh baguettes with a choice of seven fillings, including ham, turkey, prosciutto, and grilled chicken. A dish of olive oil-and-garlic-marinated white anchovy fillets (boquerones) stands out, the slender fish delicately delicious, the leftover oil an absorbing sop for rounds of baguette. A passable paella is also available, though many folks seem to opt for chorizo y queso, a plate of spicy sausage and cubes of imported Swiss cheese. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>
A local Bukowski style dive-bar. Locals get into fisticuffs as the beautiful bartender calls the police. Try the Jack and Ginger, she makes it strong. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>
http://www.harrisonswinebar.com From 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. every night, Harrison's pours wine, bubbly, and cocktails and beer to 30-, 40-, and 50-somethings, to couples, to the occasional singles, and to groups who get really cozy. The setup is ideal: plush couches, dark drapes, and cinder-block walls that seem impenetrable from the outside. The red light from under the bottles and the black light's afterglow add to the sexy atmosphere. Some may want to take their secret to a more private place, so they head to the patio, where private gazebos complete with roll-down screens keep out pesky peepers. Located inside the American Legion, Harvey's is a laid-back sports bar with a slightly retro feel that can be morphed into a tiny dance club or live music venue. Fridays often feature local and national underground punk or indie bands. The back room offers lounging on battered couches. Saturdays, DJs spin a wide spectrum of music, from 80s to hip-hop, and even goth/industrial tunes. Pool tables offer alternative entertainment and gawking at the off-kilter art lining the walls is an event in itself. Open every day, Harvey's has a full bar and happy hour, with cheap drinks and specials almost every night. Late night munchers can try their greasy and delicious bar food. http://www.havenlounge.com The snow-capped mountain range is dazzlingly white against an impossibly blue sky, and snowflakes slowly drift to the rhythm of the Tom Tom Club. The Tom Tom Club? Don't ask questions; just go with the flow. The wraparound LCD walls might soon change to images of the Mediterranean. A thousand or so ice-cube lights running in rows on a black ceiling subtly switch hues. The Siberian white-onyx bar changes color too, and if you sit long enough, Haven Gastro-Lounge fills to the brim with an electric late-night South Beach crowd (the room stays plugged in daily till 5 in the morning). Cocktails, placed on our table by a young waitress in a skin-tight micro-skirt, emanate smoke from liquid nitrogen -- also used to great visual effect in creating made-to-order ice creams for dessert. Among the drinks, desserts, and dramatics are a global mix of delectable small plates orchestrated by chef Todd Erickson. There are six categories of haute bar snacks: Crudo ($4 to $14), Green ($8 to $10), Roll ($9 to $12), Crisp ($7 to $12), Skewer ($8 to $10), and Slider ($7 to $11). Everything bursts with clean, fresh flavors, from a spicy tuna roll with crisp rice to coconut-crusted rock shrimp with wasabi-peach marmalade to a skewer of jerked chicken thighs atop a cucumber-pineapple salsa. Scintillating food in a stimulating psychedelic environment for the digital age. Cool. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>

http://www.hotshotsbar.com Hot Shots bar is a dream home away from home for just about any pool shark and sports enthusiast. The deceptively large sports bar is hidden in a strip plaza off University Drive in Sunrise and is packed wall to wall with pool tables and flat-screen TVs. But if playing pool isn't up your alley, various dartboards and Ping-Pong tables are also available. The walls have all the typical bar trimmings, including neon beer signs, beer flags, and sports memorabilia. Scantily clad cocktail waitresses never leave a dry glass. Extremely casual and packed with a locals-only crowd, Hot Shots Bar is the type of place where anything goes. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>

http://www.hoxtonmiami.com Ebony wooden floors, built-in book shelves with picture frames on the walls, and huge, striped couches that can fit an army of party-goers are not what you would expect to find at a Brickell lounge. Named after the hip street in London in the area of Charlotte, the Hoxton has a laid-back, "urban beach house" feel to it. This vibe is reflected in the design and ambiance of the bar, where small, white and light brown wooden tables topped white lamps, flowers, and tea light candles are found dotted along the lounge. Although the decor gets a lot of praise, their specialty is signature cocktails priced at $12 like the Eleven-11, Napolean Mandarin, peach liquer, and pineapple topped with champagne, or specialty beers like Milk Stout ($7). For dinner, the Hoxton serves English-inspired dishes like fish and chips, served with hand cut fries and tartar sauce ($14) and the New England clam bake with lobster, clams, mussels, shrimp, grilled corn, red potato, and lemon ($45). The music adds on to the whole beach vibe the Hoxton's got going on. With names like Cat Shell, Spam Allstars, and Sirens and Sealions hitting the stage, the Hoxton transports guests to a weekend getaway to the Hamptons without ever leaving the city. http://www.hoycomoayer.us Think CBGB as a nostalgic salsa joint in the heart of Little Havana and you have this place. The low ceiling and adoring portraits of Latin stars in this intimate space remind the rotating Latin funk bands where it all started. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>
http://www.huntershurricane.com This no-frills bar in South Dade specializes in good, old-fashioned drinking. Step in, take a load off, order a Budweiser, and shoot some pool in the recently remodeled space. There are amusement machines, an awesome jukebox, NASCAR drink specials, and even a DJ on the weekend to keep it all exciting. Stop in on a "Blue Moon" special night, and you might be lucky enough to get in on the pig roast. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>
http://www.hurricanelounge.com Away from the madness of Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach is the quaint and hidden Hurricane Bar and Lounge. Simple in design, the interior bar is filled up mostly by a large wooden bar and a mural of swaying palm trees appropriately lines the walls. The outdoor tiki area has a nautical theme with scuba flags and fishing accoutrements dangling near the tiny bar. The casual crowd and laid-back attitudes gives the locals a relaxing option opposite the high-energy atmosphere found on the Ave. From 1pm to 7pm there is a daily 2-4-1 happy hour, and live bands play for the nighttime crowds Thursday through Sunday. http://www.hurricanewings.com The highlight of Hurricane Grill & Wings is the seemingly endless choice of sauces - 32, to be exact - that flavor the wings. They are broken down into groups ranging from category one (mild) to category five (seek shelter) and include flavors as varied as barbecue, Jamaican jerk, and "ridiculously hot hurricane sauce." It might sound a little gimmicky, but the sauces aren't bad. Wings - boneless and otherwise - are sold in ten, 15, 20, and 50 piece platters ($10 to $40). The menu also includes a large selection of appetizers such as smoked fish dip ($9) and nachos and cheese dip ($7), as well as sandwiches ($8 to $10), salads ($4 to $10), burgers ($8 to $9), and seafood ($11). Add to that a solid selection of beers and microbrews - from Corona to Purple Haze - and flat-screen TVs, and this Midtown Shops outpost of the Fort Pierce chain becomes a great place to watch sports in an area with few options for that. This Dania Beach establishment is a laid-back sports bar that welcomes Pittsburgh Steelers fans. Situated in the corner unit of a strip mall, Hurricane's façade is littered with neon signs for a variety of beers. Inside and to the left is a large game room with pool tables, videogames, and a skill crane. The bar makes up the middle portion, a half-moon with high stools with backs. To the right, there's a dining area with booths. Keep it simple, order a bucket of brews or tap the Jäger-rator, drinking Jägermeister shots all night. Read more about this Miami bar or club >>
