The Five Best New Happy Hours in Miami

All day you mindlessly drone about your office duties with only one thing in mind: the sweet freedom of the end of the workday, when you can unwind with friends at happy hour.

Though Miami is famously an expensive location for eating and drinking, happy hour affords you the pleasure of getting a quality bite and good drink at a discounted price — or even for free.

Here are the five best new restaurant happy hours, offering you fabulous food and drinks on the cheap.
5. Tino's
Tino's chef Constantine de Lucia offers a weekday happy hour that features his authentic pizzas straight from his 900-degree Stefano Ferrara oven. Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., enjoy $9 margherita pizzas. Wash them down with $6 glasses of select wines and $4 select draft beers for an inexpensive early meal with friends. Tino's is located in Brickell at 1040 S. Miami Ave.
4. The Grdn
Taquiza's masa-making ninjas, Steve Santana and Washington Charles, recently opened this project in the Beds n' Drinks Hostel. Every Monday at the Grdn, two local breweries' beers are showcased for $3.05 each during happy hour from 5 to 8 p.m. Double down on your boozing with the "care package," which pairs a shot and a beer for $6. Because Monday is also industry night, those in the biz get a 15 percent discount. 
3. Baby Jane
For a midday treat, get ready to check out of the office and check in your phone. During lunch at Baby Jane, you'll be asked to trade in your mobile device. In return, you'll receive a basket filled with childhood favorites such as Slinky toys, Jenga, and coloring books. You'll also receive a complimentary beer to really get the creative juices flowing while chomping on chef Michael Beltran's signature soy-caramel-glazed wings and a choice of caesar salad or a beet-and-peach salad for $10. This digital detox takes place from noon to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. 
2. Happy Wine 
One word you rarely hear in Miami: free. This enthusiastic wine sanctuary offers free winetastings every Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. Though the Calle Ocho location doesn't have a menu as large as its Coconut Grove sister, its tapas will gladly do the trick. Go the extra mile and order the $7 manchego-and-chorizo panini to pair with that complimentary glass of grape juice. If a guy named JC is running around, be sure to ask how he got started in the wine industry, which could be your best decision of the day. Then again, free wine is hard to beat.
1. Pao by Paul Qui
Pao's Sundown Social is the real celebration here. From 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, chef Paul Qui goes back to his roots, serving Filipino finger food such as crispy pig ears with honey hot sauce ($5); rabbit terrine with applewood-smoked bacon, bulldog sauce, and pickled hot peppers ($8); and Filipino sweet rolls with Vermont cultured butter and native sea salt ($5). Sparkling wine costs $10 a glass, and a selection of caviar is offered at a discount. Don't forget to order the James Beard Award-winning East Side King fried chicken ($15).
