The best time of the week is finally here — the weekend — and Miami offers just about every activity. It’s three days of festive cacophony of music, art, and frosty tropical libations. End the weekend with Cochon 555, where locals, foodies, and industry folks will indulge in a night of pork and booze while, among other things, watching a 200-pound pig get inked.

Friday:
  • Book Club: Against Nature at the Wolfsonian-FIU: A discussion of French writer Joris-Karl Huysmans’ Against Nature (1884), the novel about an eccentric dandy that Oscar Wilde considered his “Bible and bedside book.”
  • Semi-Toned: Game of Tones at South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center: Culture Shock Miami brings the 13-member a cappella ensemble Semi-Toned to South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center’s Main Stage — it's like Glee meets Miami. In a program called Game of Tones, the group delivers an evening of well-known music from Broadway and film.
  • The Two-Character Play at Miami Theater CenterAs the title suggests, there are only two characters in Tennessee Williams’ late-period, less frequently performed The Two-Character Play. Released decades after his most famous work, A Streetcar Named Desire, it tells the story of Felice and Claire, a brother and sister who are also actors. But while on tour, the theater company abandons the siblings. Together, the two reenact a play within a play, subsequently grappling with their art, professions, and sanity.
  • Giralda Under the Stars on Giralda Avenue: Friday is your last chance to enjoy dinner by starlight when the 100 block of Giralda Avenue shuts down to traffic and fills with decorated tabletops. Nosh on noodles at Bangkok Bangkok or Miss Saigon Bistro. Break out your chopsticks at Ikura Sushi Lounge, or have something light from Divino Ceviche. There will be Italian delights at Castelluccio Ristorante, healthy fare at Green Life Mia, and Mexican favorites from Talavera Cocina Mexicana, among others.
Saturday:
  • Sprung! Miami Beer Festival at Mana WynwoodCelebrate spring at Sprung! Miami Beer Festival, where you can sample more than 300 craft beers, enjoy live music, and play some of your favorite bar games. Event organizers guarantee plenty of beer for the duration of the event. This year, the fest has moved from its usual location in Coconut Grove’s Peacock Park to a fresh spot in Wynwood. A variety of breweries will participate, including 26 Degree Brewing Company, Descarga Brewing Company, Hollywood Brewing Co., and Legacy Caribbean Craft Brewery.
  • El Clasico Watch Party Hosted by beIN Sports at Margaret Pace Park (1745 N Bayshore Dr., Miami): The global network beIN Sports will present U.S. coverage of the soccer rivalry between LaLiga’s FC Barcelona and Real Madrid as the teams go head-to-head in “El Clásico.” To celebrate the big game, there will be a free watch party featuring the live action on a huge outdoor screen, live entertainment featuring bands and DJs, food trucks, family activities, prizes, and giveaways. The game will be followed by a live performance by Grammy- and Latin Grammy-nominated bilingual band Locos por Juana.
Sunday:
  • Cochon 555 at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach: It’s no secret Miami loves pork. From ham croquetas and Cuban sandwiches to bacon-infused cocktails and desserts, pig figures prominently in the Magic City. In the ultimate ode to cooking swine, the national Cochon 555 tour returns to dazzle our palates and blow our minds.
  • Jazz Guitar Ensemble at the Wolfsonian-FIU: Directed by jazz guitarist Tom Lippincott, the FIU Jazz Guitar Ensemble will perform standard and contemporary jazz repertoire, as well as original compositions that take advantage of the varied sounds of the electric guitar.
  • Grillin N Chillin BBQ Fest at RC Cola Plant: Barbecue fans have strong opinions on the style of their smoked meats. Whether you prefer the vinegar-spiked Carolina style, vinegar-and-ketchup-laced Kentucky style, sweet Memphis style, or even Brazilian churrasco or Argentinie parrillada, Wynwood’s Grillin N Chillin BBQ Fest has it all.
  • Momentum Dance Company at Colony Theatre: Momentum Dance Company is the oldest continuously running dance company in Florida, but it never rests on its laurels or its celebrated reputation. Marking its 34th anniversary, Momentum presents a collection of spring performances full of eclectic storytelling and artistic expression. The lineup includes a piece from modern dance innovator Anna Sokolow’s 1985 work Poems of Scriabin, which was exclusively produced for the company. In addition, Miami dance fans will experience three new works: Irresistible Pop, Forms Follow Man, and Dido.
