Thanksgiving 2015: Guide to Restaurant Dinners in Miami

It's not Thanksgiving yet, but we know those oh-so-familar cravings for turkey, gravy, and cranberry are slowly creeping in. It's not Thanksgiving yet, but those oh-so-familar cravings for turkey, gravy, and cranberry are creeping in. The only thing that stands between you and satisfying that pesky hunger with an autumn-inspired feast are a few hundred dollars, days of preparation, and long hours slaving away over a hot stove.

There are two ways to go: Put on your apron and get in the kitchen, or leave it to one of 40 Miami eateries. A bevy of them will be open on Turkey Day to cook traditional and untraditional multicourse meals. Think smoked, roasted, or fried turkey, every type of stuffing concoction imaginable, and even Indian-themed dishes. There's a meal for all moods, palates, and budgets. Take your pick, and be sure to make reservations well in advance, because seats fill fast. 


III Forks 
III Forks Prime Steakhouse will take care of the cooking this Thanksgiving with a four-course dinner special from 3 to 9 p.m. Dinner will begin with a tenderloin tomato soup including fresh-roasted vine-ripe plum tomatoes and sweet basil; the restaurant's signature salad will follow, with crisp Granny Smith apple slices, Wisconsin blue cheese, toasted pecans, and field greens tossed in house-made maple-pecan vinaigrette. For the entrée, a spice-rubbed holiday turkey with "grandma’s gravy," fresh cranberry-orange relish, sausage-sage cornbread dressing, creamed potatoes, maple-glazed yams, and roasted autumn vegetables will be offered. Other entrée choices are available upon request. A dessert cart with a choice of sweet treats will be delivered tableside. More than 25 items are available à la carte, including deep-fried turkey legs, filet mignon, Chilean sea bass, sausage-sage cornbread, and six-cheese potatoes. The cost is $47 for adults and $17 for children.

15th & Vine Kitchen and Bar
Viceroy Miami’s signature restaurant will offer a family-style dinner for the holiday. The special menu includes roasted beet and calabaza ensalada; jerk roasted turkey roulade; sweet potato gnocchi; carnitas and roasted Brussels sprouts; fried yuca; and cheesy biscuits. Guests are encouraged to top off the meal with homemade desserts including pumpkin flan garnished with spiced pumpkin seeds and apple pie streusel with Devonshire sweet cream. Available from 5:30 to 10 p.m., dinner is priced at $55 per adult and $25 per child. American Social Brickell
Take-out, or dine-in, American Social is keeping busy this fall with an elaborate spread of indulgent Thanksgiving holiday dishes. For groups of four or more that prefer to eat at home, AmSo will prepare, cook and package a complete Thanksgiving spread for your convenience. Dinner is available for pick up starting Wednesday evening. Everything from corn chowder, herb-roasted gravy, and butter whipped potatoes, to oven roasted turkey, maple glazed carrots and pomegranate-cranberry sauce can be enjoyed in Brickell for $34 prix-fixe or the comfort of your home. Area 31
Indulge in a holiday-themed meal at Area 31, inside the Epic hotel. From 2 to 8 p.m., guests can enjoy a prix-fixe meal courtesy of Chef Birk. Thanksgiving favorites include traditional turkey or fancy fried turkey; roasted butternut squash soup with pumpkin seeds and pancetta; and mashed potatoes with a black-garlic swirl. Azul
Sate your hunger with a savory four-course meal at Azul inside the Mandarin Oriental. For $95 per person, begin with shredded Brussels sprouts with figs and roasted cashews. Caramelized butternut squash soup will follow. For the third course, expect a Thanksgiving-style family feast, including friend turkey breast, confit turkey leg, brioche-sausage stuffing, poached cranberries, sweet potato purée, and broccoli casserole. Add an Asian twist to this year's Thanksgiving feast with chef Michael Pirolo’s bold flavors and rich dishes. Pirolo's handcrafted holiday menu reinvents traditional Turkey Day dishes. Beachcraft is celebrating its first Thanksgiving at 1 Hotel South Beach with a menu from Tom Colicchio and executive chef Michael Fiorello. From noon to 8 p.m., guests are welcome for a brunch-style buffet featuring local seafood selections and autumnal dishes, such as a sweet potato salad, with maple-whole grain mustard and smoked pecans; whole roasted suckling pig, with sour orange mojo; roasted mushroom casserole, with snap beans and crispy shallots; and whipped potato with cheese curd and roasted garlic. A three-course menu will also be available starting at 5 p.m., encouraging guests to enjoy traditional Thanksgiving fare family-style, including a roasted free-range heritage turkey, with giblet gravy, sourdough stuffing, and a pumpkin crème brulée tartlett for dessert. BLT Prime at Trump National Doral
Forgo a home Thanksgiving feast and enjoy BLT Prime's special holiday menu instead. Finka Table & Tap
Although the restaurant will be closed for Thanksgiving, Finka fans will be able to get their fix of the Korean, Peruvian, and Cuban fusion from a special menu available only at the takeout window. Choose between a 12-14lb whole roast turkey or a 2-3lb whole roasted chicken, both served with Cuban bread, duck bacon stuffing, and naranja agria gravy. A medley of sides, including truffled mashed potatoes, Korean style brussels sprouts, and chimichurri roasted fingerling potatoes. Sweet treats include guava bread pudding or a whole guava cheesecake.
